BORGO SAN LEONARDO
This elegant estate is the result of an extensive restoration lasting more than four years, carried out on the site of a former hospitale peregrinorum dedicated to St. Leonard, which dates back to the 13th century. In 1811, the property was definitively transformed into a rural hamlet.

Set within over five hectares of private, fully enclosed grounds, the estate comprises the main country house, a separate guest house, a private chapel, and a collection of traditional rural buildings.

We have been appointed to redesign and enhance the surrounding formal gardens, introducing traditional terracotta pots, a semicircular low evergreen hedge framing the central lawn, an orchard, and gently curved rose knot planting beds that define the main entrance drive.

The planting scheme combines formal evergreen structure for year-round interest with rose-covered archways, together with a rich palette of long-flowering perennials and shrubs.

Pergolas draped with Wisteria sinensis, façades clothed in Vitis americana, and terracotta pots and borders planted with seasonal bulbs, irises, and agapanthus create an atmosphere of refined country living.

Covered porticoes, an intimate courtyard, mature trees, tree-lined avenues, a pergola, and carefully framed views combine to create a setting of privacy, authenticity, and understated elegance.

Feature lighting highlights the elegant umbrella-shaped trees that define the outdoor dining area, while subtle illumination accentuates the planting beds, sculptural forms, and contemporary stone steps, extending the enjoyment of the garden well into the evening.
